Kevin Ray is a second-generation dentist from La Grange, Texas. He grew up in his father's dental office, so dentistry is not only a profession--it's a way of life. His sister also followed in their father's footsteps and became a dental hygienist. After graduating from dental school, he went to visit his sister working in Switzerland, and there he met his wife Sandy, who is a hygienist also. Sandy works in the practice part time, while raising their boys Andrew and Blake.
Dr. Ray attended the University of Texas in Austin for two and a half years before being accepted early into dental school at the Health Science Center in San Antonio. After graduating in 1987, he worked with his dad for a year and then started his practice in Columbus, Texas in 1989.
Practicing in a small town presents many opportunities and challenges. Dr. Ray is active in his community and church, so he understands that the care he provides must be accessible and stand up to high expectations for the long term. Listening to his patients, gentle care and high quality are the reasons for his success. He is also certified in orthodontics and dental implantology, and keeps current with the latest knowledge in all of the specialties. Dr. Ray and his skilled staff take pride in seldom having to refer a patient out of town for a root canal, wisdom teeth, or braces.
Dr. Ray and Sandy spend most of their time involved in their kids' sports, scouting, fishing, and church activities. They love their cows, motorcycles and four wheelers! When not chasing kids, they like traveling both in the States and abroad, dividing holidays between Texas and Ohio, where Sandy is from. The farm, lake, beach, and ski slope are their playgrounds.
Dr. Ray is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Greater Houston Dental Society, and American Orthodontic Society. He has also served as a board member for the alumni association for the dental school. Continuing education is both fun and educational for his whole team.
